Macdara’s Grille in Wheaton announced its permanent closure on Wednesday in identical messages on Twitter and Facebook.
The post asked patrons not to call owners, and promised additional details would follow soon.
Macdara’s had a moderately priced surf-and-turf dinner menu, happy hour beverages and a Sunday brunch selection. It offered half-priced entrees for government employees during the shutdown.
The restaurant’s phone line is still in service, but calls to it have not been returned.
Macdara’s website is plastered with the news of its closure, though the virtual “Bowwow Wall” is still in operation featuring a scrolling slideshow of canine visitors.
