Nine Montgomery County restaurants have made the list of Washingtonian’s “100 Very Best Restaurants,” but only one—Inferno Pizzeria in Darnestown at No. 11—cracked the top 50.

Two Bethesda restaurants — Q by Peter Chang (52) and Jaleo (86)—made the list, which is published in the magazine’s February issue, but wasn’t on its website as of Wednesday morning.

Other county restaurants on the list are El Sapo Cuban Social Club in Silver Spring (65), Sushiko in Chevy Chase (73), A&J Restaurant in Rockville (74), Urban Butcher in Silver Spring (78), Beteseb in Silver Spring (90) and La Limena in Rockville’s Ritchie Center (99).

Six county eateries made the list in 2018, including Bethesda’s Jaleo, which also has locations in the District and Northern Virginia, and the since closed Kapnos Kouzina.

The rankings are based on visits to some 300 restaurants in the Washington area.
