Thefts from vehicles

Cash taken from a vehicle in the 8600 block of Sundale Drive at 11:42 p.m. Jan. 16. No forced entry reported.

Cash and property taken from multiple vehicles during the reporting period. Thefts occurred on East West Highway, Auburn, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Woodmont avenues, Waverly and Leland streets, and Arlington and Sleaford roads. Forced entry reported in multiple cases.

Strong-arm robbery

Two suspects assaulted a male victim and took his cash and property the morning of Jan. 16 in the area of East West Highway and Rosemary Hills Drive. Police arrested one suspect.

Residential burglaries

Property taken from a residence in the 8500 block of Longfellow Place between 12:45 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Jan. 14. Forced entry reported.

A suspect displayed a weapon and took a male victim’s cash in the 5400 block of Randolph Road at 6:35 p.m. Jan. 19.

Silver Spring

Thefts from vehicles

Cash and property taken from multiple vehicles during the reporting period. Thefts occurred on 2nd and Georgia avenues, Colesville Road and Fidler and Colonial lanes. Forced entry reported in multiple events.

Cash, property and vehicle parts taken from four vehicles between Jan. 14 and Jan. 19. Thefts occurred on Columbia Pike, December Way and New Hampshire Avenue. Forced entry reported in two events.

Vehicle theft

Vehicle taken from the 8600 block of 2nd Avenue the morning of Jan. 17. Entry was not known.

Vehicle taken from the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Lane between 9:30 a.m. and 7:40 p.m. Jan. 17. The vehicle reportedly was unlocked with the keys in the ignition.

Commercial burglary and vehicle thefts

Six vehicles taken from Zokor Automotive at 3311 Briggs Chaney Road between 9 a.m. Jan. 13 and 5 p.m. Jan. 14. A door was reportedly left unlocked and vehicle keys were taken and used to steal the vehicles. Police arrested a suspect. All vehicles were recovered Jan. 14.

Commercial burglary

Cash taken from Yo Yo Café at 13843 Outlet Drive the morning of Jan. 16. Forced entry was reported.

Commercial robbery

Merchandise taken from a T-Mobile store at 8668 Colesville Road at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 17. One suspect assaulted an employee.

Commercial armed robbery

Property taken from a 7-Eleven convenience store at 11303 Lockwood Drive the morning of Jan. 15. One suspect displayed a weapon. Police arrested one of two suspects.
