Respect the Queen: An Aretha Franklin Tribute—Friday night—AMP by Strathmore, North Bethesda
Vocalists Shayna Blass, Crystal Freeman and Ines Nassara will sing Franklin’s classics including “Son of a Preacher Man,” “A Natural Woman” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” The performance begins at 8 p.m.; tickets start at $18.

Angelina Ballerina—Friday and Saturday—BlackRock Center for the Arts, Germantown
There are three performances of BlackRock’s production of the kid-friendly musical about a dancing mouse: 10 a.m. Friday, and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday. Tickets start at $18.

Tchaik 5—Saturday and Sunday—The Music Center at Strathmore, North Bethesda
The National Philharmonic will perform Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. Chinese pianist Haochen Zhang, who won the 2009 Gold Medal of the Van Cliburn Competition, will perform during the Brahms Concerto. The Saturday performance begins at 8 p.m. and the Sunday performance begins at 3 p.m. Tickets start at $34.

Bartender Clash—Sunday night—Black’s Bar & Kitchen, Bethesda
Six local bartenders will compete for the title of Bethesda’s Best Bartender Sunday at 7 p.m. Washington-area singer songwriter Sean Chyun will perform at the inaugural event.  The judges will be Sam Weaver, co-owner of Chevy Chase Cars, Ashish Alfred, owner and chef of Duck Duck Goose and George’s Chophouse in Bethesda, and Steve Hull, editor and publisher of Bethesda Magazine and Bethesda Beat. Event proceeds will benefit the Blacks Family Foundation.
