Marylanders look to close loophole in Noah’s Law
Families of people killed by drunken drivers are pushing lawmakers to close a loophole in a law that allows offenders who plead guilty and receive probation to skirt the otherwise-mandated requirement of having an ignition interlock device installed in their car.
The requirement is a result of Noah’s Law, passed in 2016 for a Montgomery County police officer killed by a drunken driver. [WTOP]
Flood watch issued for DC area Thursday
More than an inch of rain could fall in the D.C. area Thursday, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a flood watch until 3 p.m. Once the rain stops, temperatures are expected to drop quickly. [WTOP]
County helps businesses impacted by Wheaton construction
Montgomery County is offering additional money to businesses impacted by the Wheaton Revitalization Project.
Officials say about $515,000 has been distributed to 17 area businesses impacted by construction work. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2020. [WDVM]
