Bethesda Magazine Winter Restaurant Week—Friday through Sunday
Bethesda Magazine’s Winter Restaurant Week kicks off Friday and continues through Jan. 20. Mon Ami Gabi, Summer House Santa Monica and Jaleo, along with 27 other area restaurants are participating.

Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime—Friday—The Fillmore Silver Spring
Maryland rock band Higher Education will open for the Sublime tribute band. The concert begins at 8:30 p.m. All tickets are general admission and cost $20.

Equivocation—Friday and Saturday—Silver Spring Stage
Silver Spring Stage’s production of Equivocation opens Friday night. Equivocation follows Elizabethan actors who have been commissioned to write a play about a failed attempt to blow up Parliament and assassinate King James I. The shows on Friday and Saturday night begin at 8 p.m. The play continues through Feb. 2. Adult tickets are $25.

Open Mic—Saturday—The Writer’s Center, Bethesda
The newly renovated Writer’s Center is hosting an open mic Saturday at 2 p.m. Writers can read three to four minutes of their poetry, prose or spoken word. Signup begins at 1:30 p.m.

Wake Up, Brother Bear—Saturday and Sunday—Imagination Stage, Bethesda
The 10th anniversary performance of Wake Up, Brother Bear, suitable for children ages 1 through 5, opens this weekend. The interactive play follows two sibling bears who have just woken up from hibernation. Tickets are $12.
