Montgomery County police are investigating a collision that fatally injured a pedestrian in Germantown on Wednesday evening.
Joyce Asare Brown, 50, of Quail Woods Drive in Germantown, was struck by a car while crossing eastbound Middlebrook Road at Ridgecrest Drive, according to county police.
Brown was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. She has since succumbed to those injuries.
The driver of the car, a 2010 VW Jetta, had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, police said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 240-773-6620.
