An elderly woman struck by a car near her Darnestown Road home on Friday died from her injuries on Sunday morning, Montgomery County police said.
Nancy Jean Soulen, 87, of the 15300 block of Quail Run Drive, was struck by a car on Darnestown Road at Ancient Oak Drive in the Gaithersburg area.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer said the woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and police announced she died early Sunday morning.
Police said a 2015 Acura TLX was eastbound on Darnestown Road when it struck Soulen. The driver was not injured and stayed at the scene.
The collision, at about 5:20 p.m. on a rainy night, remains under investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
