Bethesda man arrested for threatening neighbor’s dog

Bethesda resident Joshua Kurstin is facing charges of fourth-degree burglary and second-degree assault after Montgomery County police say he threatened to break the neck of his neighbor’s dog on Sept. 13. Kurstin could face as much as 13 years in prison. [WJLA]

Maryland GOP to hold fall convention this weekend

The Maryland Republican Party will hold its officer elections this weekend at the party’s annual conference. Current Chairman Dick Haire is expected to be re-elected since he is running unopposed. Three of the other positions are contested. [Maryland Matters]
