Holiday Classics Film Series—Friday—AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center
AFI’s Holiday Classics film series continues this weekend. Christmas Evil, a horror film and cult classic, begins at 9:30 p.m. Friday. General admission tickets to Christmas Evil are $13.

Holiday Pops—Friday night—The Music Center at Strathmore
Helen Hayes Award-winning singer and actress Iyona Blake will sing holiday classics including “White Christmas,” “Silent Night,” and “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $18; a portion of the proceeds benefits United Service Organizations families.

Takoma Park Holiday Art Sale—Saturday—Takoma Park Community Center
Prints, painting, clothing and jewelry will be for sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Takoma Park Community Center. Admission is free.

Pet Photos with Santa—Saturday—Bethesda Row
Bring your pet to Bethesda Lane between 12 and 3 p.m. Saturday to get its picture taken with Santa. The suggested $5 donation benefits Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and includes a photograph. Local retailers will offer pet-related deals.

Rufus Wainwright—Saturday night—The Music Center at Strathmore
Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright performs at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Music Center at Strathmore. Wainwright has collaborated with Elton John, David Byrne and Joni Mitchell. Tickets start at $39.

Lox & Vodka—Sunday night—Tikvat Israel Congregation
Lox & Vodka will perform klezmer music, Jewish soul music, in honor of Hanukkah. The band performs Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $18 and at the door for $20.
