Updated at 3 p.m. on Thursday; Mongomery County police investigated both Montgomery Blair and Springbrook high schools after threats were reported on Thursday, but did not find anything.
Montgomery Blair students were evacuated at approximately 1 p.m. after the school received a bomb threat, according to principal Renay Johnson.
Montgomery County police responded to a call at Montgomery Blair regarding an “incendiary device,” Sgt. Rebecca Innocenti, a police spokesperson, said.
Police responded to Springbook at approximately the same time after a report of a threat.
Johnson said via Twitter at approximately 1:15 p.m. that students had evacuated the Silver Spring school and police were on scene.
Johnson said all students were dismissed at 2:30 p.m. and all after school activities were canceled. The building was cleared for re-entry around 3 p.m.
We had a bomb threat, so we have evacuated the building. Staff is with students on campus. Police are on campus to investigate the threat. I’ll keep you updated on this emergency.
