The Gaithersburg Yard House will open on Monday in the RIO Washingtonian Center, offering the self-proclaimed largest assortment of draft beer in Gaithersburg plus more than 100 menu items.
The 13,000-square-foot restaurant is located at 211 Rio Blvd. and will be christened by the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:45 a.m. on Monday.
Yard House General Manager Andrew Nicolaysen said the building features a specially-built keg room holding about 3,000 gallons of beer and the restaurant will have 130 adult beverages on tap. The beer will be delivered from the glass-enclosed keg room to the center island bar via more than two miles of individual beer lines overhead.
Yard House’s taps will include selections from local and regional brewers such as Burley Oak Brewing Company and RaR Brewing, and the plan is to involve more nearby establishments as the restaurant progresses.
“As we move forward into doing more business after the open, we’ll have an opportunity to hand-select some of the beers ourselves and to get it more localized,” Nicolaysen said.
The food menu will be headlined by poke nachos, Nashville hot chicken, Parmesan-crusted pork loin and ginger-crusted salmon. Happy hour starts at 3 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m., with the majority of appetizers available at half price and $2 off all beverages. The fare includes gluten-sensitive, vegan and vegetarian choices.
The Gaithersburg Yard House will be the fourth member of the restaurant group, joining locations in California, Illinois and Texas.
