MoCo Fire and Rescue Service Investigating Kensington Arson

Shed fire caused $70K in damages

The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) is investigating a possible arson in Kensington that occurred early Sunday morning.

MCFRS spokesman Pete Piringer reported firefighters responded to a shed fire at 12301 Atherton Drive at around 4 a.m. No injuries were reported. Piringer said there was evidence the fire had been set by someone, prompting the investigation.

Piringer reported the 10-by-20 shed contained lawnmowers and gas cans, among other items. The fire caused about $70,000 in damages.
