Homeland Security says state election system not compromised
The Department of Homeland Security had been investigating the Maryland state election data system since August and the Maryland State Board of Elections publicly released a 15-page report on Thursday regarding its findings. The report from the Hunt and Incident Response Team from the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center did not find any issues with the system. The team began looking into systems hosted by ByteGrid a few months back after the company failed to disclose it was funded by AltPoint Capital Partners, a group largely backed by a Kremlin-linked Russian oligarch.
