Man killed by Metro train at Forest Glen
A victim was struck and killed by a train on Monday evening at the Forest Glen Metro Station at 9730 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring. Metro Transit Police said the man “intentionally placed himself in the path of an arriving Red Line train” around 9:30 p.m. [WJLA]
Silver Spring man arrested after supposed good deed, video goes viral
A video of a Silver Spring man who was arrested Saturday after claiming to help a drunken neighbor to his house has garnered more than 13,000 likes and hundreds of comments on Instagram. Samir Ahmed, 23, told WUSA9 he arrived home around 11 a.m. on Nov. 17 and found a man passed out near his home on Malibu Drive. After assisting the man, police arrested and charged Ahmed with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, among other charges, along with a citation for a small amount of marijuana on his person.
