Purple Line blasting to begin
Construction is expected to start today at 9:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. to remove rock from a shaft to create an additional entrance to the Bethesda Metro station connected to the Purple Line station. Blasting was originally scheduled to start last week but the Purple Line Transit Partners needed additional time to coordinate with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. [WTOP]
State senators give generously to each other
Maryland Matters analyzed the donations of all 47 current members of the Maryland Senate, finding nearly a dozen gave at least $100,000 in campaign donations to help other candidates. Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. (D-Calvert) has donated more than a million dollars since the current election cycle began in January 2015. [Maryland Matters]
