Holiday Art Show & Sale—Friday through Sunday—Glen Echo Park
Glass and ceramic art, paintings, jewelry and holiday ornaments will be for sale at the Popcorn Gallery and Stone Tower Gallery. The show and sale will be open 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 30.
Vertigo: 60th Anniversary—Friday through Sunday—AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center, Silver Spring
In honor of the film’s 60th Anniversary, the AFI will show a 4K restoration of the Hitchcock film. There are three weekend showtimes: Friday at 6:45 p.m., Saturday at 4:45 p.m and Sunday at 1:15 p.m. Tickets are $13.
Fonseca—Friday night—The Fillmore Silver Spring
Colombian singer-songwriter Fonseca will perform at The Fillmore in Silver Spring Friday night. The artist has won several Latin Grammy Awards, and was nominated for a 2012 American Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. The concert begins at 8 p.m.; all tickets are general admission and cost $39.50 each plus fees.
Mousey Thompson & The James Brown Experience—Saturday night—Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club
The soul band’s drummer, Robert “Mousey” Thompson, performed with James Brown from 1993 to 2006, when Brown passed. The band will perform James Brown hits, starting at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $30.
The Anderson Brothers Play Benny Goodman—Sunday—The Mansion at Strathmore
Bethesda natives Peter and Will Anderson will perform the music of late Benny Goodman, known as the “King of Swing.” The identical twins were featured on the HBO Boardwalk Empire soundtrack. The concert starts at 3 p.m.; tickets are $30.
