Pike Kitchen opened its doors Nov.7 at Rockville’s Edmonston Crossing shopping center, with selections from eight vendors offering a variety of meal choices.
Owned by James Park, a principal at OCC Real Estate in Rockville, the food hall is the second of its kind on Rockville Pike, along with The Spot. Both offer a range of Asian-inspired cuisine, from bubble tea to fried chicken and desserts.
DC Eater first reported the opening of Pike Kitchen at 1066 Rockville Pike.
Nestled next to Lenscrafters and behind Taco Bell, Pike Kitchen features a large, cafeteria-style seating area with the various restaurants lining the perimeter. All but one of the options are up and running, with pork and chicken joint Kogyro adorned with a “Coming Soon” sign.
Patrons are greeted by Pike Bakery at the front door, which offers fresh baked goods, coffee and breakfast next to bubble tea stand Monster Tea. Bowl Play and Japomen line the back wall, selling Korean bibimbap and ramen, respectively. Pike Chicken & Beer offers a fairly straightforward menu, and kimchi tacos headline the K Street fare, along with pho at J Viet.
A “Grand Opening” banner still waves across the Pike Kitchen façade, and should soon be matched by a similar declaration nearby at Pike & Rose, where The Block is set to open sometime next year.
The Block debuted in Annandale, Virginia, in 2016, and the North Bethesda location will be the food hall’s second. Positioned on the corner of Rose Avenue and Towne Road, the food hall will include poke bowls from Pokéworks and Taiwanese “SnoCream,” in addition to other Asian vendors.
