Updated at 3:25 p.m. on Nov. 21: Montgomery County police now believe the death of a man whose body was found lying on Cherry Laurel Lane in Gaithersburg on Nov. 13 was the result of being struck by a vehicle, according to an investigation update on Wednesday.
The body was identified on Nov. 15 as 34-year-old Dammeon Terrell Powell of the 18300 block of Streamside Drive in Gaithersburg, police said.
Police received a call at 8:43 a.m. Tuesday about a body in the roadway. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy, the results of which are pending.
Investigators have found the vehicle and the driver involved in the collision. The driver has been cooperative with officers, police said.
