Maryland voters re-elected Republican Gov. Larry Hogan by an overwhelming margin Tuesday, but Montgomery County voters were less enthusiastic.

With 97.4 percent of precincts reporting, Democrat Ben Jealous was leading Hogan in the county by 54.4 percent to 44.5 percent. Statewide, Hogan was winning 56.4 to 42.5 percent.

Hogan, who made numerous campaign appearances in the county, received the highest percentage of the vote by a Republican gubernatorial candidate since Spiro Agnew won in Montgomery County in 1966.
