Shake Shack announced it will open its first Potomac location to the public at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Cabin John Shopping Center and Mall.

The 3,000-square-foot restaurant will be situated at the corner of Tuckerman Lane and Seven Locks Road and have an outdoor patio. The Potomac location will add to the chain’s three Maryland locations in Baltimore and six in Washington, D.C.

Shake Shack is working with local purveyors to create seasonal menu items and to support local business, according to a press announcement. The restaurant will offer local brews from Flying Dog Brewery, DC Brau and 3 Stars Brewing Co., in addition to its signature Brooklyn ShackMeister Ale. New frozen custard dishes have also been created in collaboration with local purveyors.

As part of the chain’s mission to “Stand for Something Good,” 5 percent of sales proceeds from the restaurant’s soft opening on Wednesday and all life-long sales from its new “Pie Oh My” frozen custard will benefit the Tree House Children’s Advocacy Center, according to a press release.

The chain also supports “green architecture and eco-friendly” construction. Tabletops are made using reclaimed bowling alley lanes and booths are crafted using lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

The Potomac property is currently hiring full-time and part-time staff. No previous experience is required.
