Fighting Trump is Maryland Democrats’ No. 1 issue

A new poll by Gonzales Research & Marketing Strategies found that 46 percent of Maryland Democrats believe the most important issue for them in the upcoming primary election is “removing Donald Trump from office.” The other top issues were public education (26 percent), the economy (10 percent) and public safety (8 percent). Virginia looking to extend toll lanes to American Legion Bridge

The Virginia Department of Transportation launched a $6 million environmental study in April to examine the feasibility of extending its existing Beltway toll lanes northward to the Maryland line. The extension would enable the state to connect to Maryland’s planned Beltway toll lane expansion, if Maryland moves forward with the major project. [WTOP]

Baker makes stop in Silver Spring

Democratic gubernatorial candidate and Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker was flanked in Silver Spring Monday by U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen and Montgomery County Council members Hans Riemer and Nancy Floreen to discuss his transportation plan. Baker has coalesced support from several popular Montgomery County politicians in his bid for governor. In addition to Van Hollen, he is also being backed by County Executive Ike Leggett and Attorney General Brian Frosh. [Maryland Matters]
