Attendees at a previous Imagination Bethesda Credit: Via Bethesda Urban Partnership

Imagination Bethesda, an annual children’s street festival scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled.

The Bethesda Urban Partnership, which runs the event, said Friday that predicted thunderstorms led to the decision.

The festival usually features shows, face painting, balloons and other live entertainment on Woodmont Avenue and Elm Street. This year’s event would have been the 24th year in Bethesda.

This is the second Bethesda festival to be canceled recently, after the planned Cinco de MayoThon was called off because of insufficient vendors and preparation.
