Theft at Giant

A man stole a woman’s wallet and keys from her purse while she was at the Giant grocery store at 10400 Georgetown Road at about 1 p.m. May 9.

Thefts from vehicles

Cash and property were taken from multiple vehicles on Maple Avenue, Kenwood Forest Lane and Clarendon and Fairfax roads between May 8 and 15. No forced entry was reported.


Garage burglary

A 64-year-old woman from Silver Spring was arrested in connection to a garage break-in on the 9500 block of River Road at 4:44 p.m. May 9. Nothing was taken.

House burglaries

A house was broken into on the 11200 block of Broad Green Drive between 2 and 5 p.m. May 9. Property was taken.

A house was also broken into on the 11500 block of Ridge Mist Terrace at 3:39 p.m. May 9. Property was taken.


Commercial burglary at Toyota dealership

Property was taken from DARCARS Toyota at 15625 Frederick Road between 8:30 p.m. May 13 and 12:22 a.m. May 14. There were no signs of forced entry.

House burglary

A house was broken into on the 14000 block of Loblolly Terrace at 4:54 p.m. May 9. Property was taken.

Strong-arm robbery

Two men approached a woman who was walking on a path near the 800 block of Baltimore Road between 5 and 5:30 p.m. May 9. One man attempted to take her purse, then the man and woman struggled for the purse. One man struck the woman and took the purse. The two men then fled the scene.

Two cars stolen from parking garage

Two vehicles were stolen from the same parking garage on the 100 block of King Farm Boulevard between 9 p.m. May 11 and 9 a.m. May 12.

Residential burglary

A person entered a residence by unknown means on the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue between 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. May 14. The burglar removed an item of clothing and damaged a shirt. Police believe the burglar was an acquaintance of the victim.

Stolen vehicle

A vehicle was stolen from a parking lot on the 500 block of Elmcroft Boulevard between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. May 14.

Stolen cash and sunglasses

A woman turned her vehicle over to a valet attendant on the 1700 block of Rockville Pike on May 14. When the vehicle was returned, cash and sunglasses were missing.

Silver Spring

Attempted aggravated assault

A 40-year-old woman from Silver Spring was arrested after she allegedly displayed a weapon and attempted to assault an employee at McDonald’s at 8507 Colesville Road at 11:40 a.m. May 13.

Attempted apartment burglary

Two men attempted to enter an apartment on the 1500 block of East West Highway in the early morning of May 14.

Thefts from vehicles

Cash and property were taken from multiple vehicles on Colesville Road, East West Highway, Fenwick Lane, Georgia and Wayne avenues and Cameron and 16th streets between May 10 and 13. Forced entry was reported in multiple thefts. A 22-year-old Washington, D.C., man was arrested in connection with the Colesville Road, Cameron Street and East West Highway thefts.
