A developer is advancing plans to build a six-story assisted living center near two office buildings on West Gude Drive in Rockville.

In recent weeks, SSL Investment Partners has submitted to the city an application to build a roughly 150-unit facility that will be called HarborChase of Rockville. The proposed 155,000-square-foot building will stand next to Rockville Corporate Center, an office campus with space leased by Montgomery County Public Schools and the AARP. The King Farm neighborhood lies just to the northwest of the site.

The roughly 75-foot-tall facility will include a fitness center, massage services, a salon, craft and game rooms and dining areas, according to the submittal. The plans call for about 70 below-ground parking spaces and about 30 ground-level spaces.

SSL Investment Partners is looking to secure its project approvals by the year’s end and start construction in 2019.

HarborChase is a Florida-based senior living company with communities in 10 states. The company doesn’t yet have a facility in Maryland, according to its website.
