More details emerge about I-270 crash that killed fire marshal, FBI agent

A Montgomery County police crash investigation determined FBI Special Agent Carlos Wolff first crashed his Acura SUV on I-270 near Falls Road while he was reaching for a cell phone. Fire Marshal Sander Cohen stopped his personal vehicle, a Volkswagen Jetta, behind Wolff’s SUV in the high-speed lane to wait for help to arrive. That’s when Roberto A. Garza Palacios swerved from the high-speed lane to the shoulder to avoid Cohen’s Jetta, striking both Wolff and Cohen, who were standing in the shoulder. Both men died. Police determined none of the people involved in the fatal collision was found to be drunk, high or speeding. [Washington Post]
