A Silver Spring man is wanted for the murder of his wife after she was found dead earlier this month in their apartment, Montgomery County police said Thursday.

Detectives obtained a warrant charging Ruel Francis Dempster II, 30, with the first-degree murder of Alice Mino Dennis, 34, and are seeking to arrest him.

Officers found Dennis dead April 18 on the kitchen floor of the couple’s apartment on the 3600 block of Bel Pre Road. There were signs of trauma to her upper body. A family member had called police after being unable to contact Dennis or Dempster for several days.

Police initially investigated the death as suspicious, but announced Thursday in a press release the state’s medical examiner’s office had ruled Dennis’ death a homicide.

Dempster couldn’t be located after his wife’s death.

“Detectives noted that many of his personal items were gone from the apartment,” police wrote.

The investigation led police to believe Dempster killed Dennis after a domestic dispute.

Police are looking for Dempster and have asked the public for information about his whereabouts.

Police described him as 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, with a prominent gold front tooth.

He was last seen in Baltimore during the afternoon of April 17.

Police have asked anyone with information to call 301-279-8000 or leave an anonymous tip at 866-411-TIPS (8477).
