A man allegedly touched a woman inappropriately outside a Harris Teeter in Potomac earlier this month, according to Montgomery County police.

Police are looking to identify the man and released surveillance photos of him Monday. The incident occurred March 11 in Park Potomac, a mixed-use development off I-270.

According to police, a 26-year-old woman was shopping in the Harris Teeter at 12525 Park Potomac Ave. after 4 p.m. when she noticed a man she didn’t know following  her, according to a police press release. As she left the store and began putting her groceries in her car, the man approached her from behind and “touched her inappropriately,” police wrote.

She confronted him and he left on foot.

Detectives are investigating the touching as a sex offense.

Police have asked anyone who recognizes the man or has information to call 240-773-5070 or leave an anonymous tip at 866-411-TIPS (8477) for a reward of up to $10,000 if information leads to an arrest.
