Hogan, lawmakers agree to Metro funding

Gov. Larry Hogan and Maryland House legislators came together to support a bill giving Metro permanent additional funding of $150 million a year. In order to pass, legislators have to reconcile differences in the passed bill in the Senate this week. Hogan’s decision represents a shift, as he previously agreed to only $125 million and not permanently. The funding is conditional on Virginia and D.C. contributing the same or more. Intoxicated man stabbed in Silver Spring

A man was seriously injured after he was stabbed in Silver Spring early Sunday morning. He was found intoxicated and with stab wounds at 2:10 a.m. on the 8200 block of Piney Branch Road. He was taken to a local hospital. Police with K9 units were looking for the person responsible for the stabbing. [WJLA]

Pepco unsure how long until power returns

Thousands in Montgomery County lost power after Friday’s wind storm, and the CEO of Pepco said that it’s unclear when power will be restored to all residents. Dave Velasquez anticipated Sunday evening that most people would have power back that night or by Monday night. [WTOP]

Police seek biker who attempted to steal woman’s purse

On Jan. 30, a male biker rode past a woman near Twinbrook Parkway and Alderbook Court in Rockville and grabbed her purse strap. She held on to the purse and he pushed her to the ground. The man then rode away without the purse, and the woman suffered minor injuries. Police released a photo of the biker on Friday. [Montgomery County police]

The National Weather Service forecasts the high will be around 46 degrees today, with winds of 10 to 14 mph and gusts up to 23 mph. Tonight should be mostly clear, with lighter winds and a low around 29 degrees.
