Ric Ocasek art show—Friday—Westfield Montgomery mall, Bethesda

Ric Ocasek, the singer of the rock band The Cars, is coming to Bethesda for his art show at Westfield Montgomery. The mall will be exhibiting his paintings from his “Abstract Reality” collection, and Ocasek will make an artist appearance from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

The event is free.

The Merry Widow—Friday, Saturday and Sunday—F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, Rockville

The Merry Widow follows a wealthy woman from Eastern Europe as she seeks a new husband and reunites with a former admirer.

Tickets are $20 to $28. Shows are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. The show runs until March 4.

Dynamic! Best of Broadway show—Friday, Saturday and Sunday—Bender Jewish Community Center, North Bethesda

Showcasing the best of Broadway and movie musicals, Dynamic! will feature actress and choreographer Chryssie Whitehead and choreographer Rachel Leigh Dolan.

Tickets are $15. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Poe Show—Saturday—Strathmore, North Bethesda

The Pocket Change Theatre Co.’s The Poe Show: Once Upon a Midnight Cheery follows Edgar Allen Poe as he attempts to write a spooky story while his cheerful pet raven keeps giving him happy suggestions. The family-friendly show is meant for all ages.

Tickets are $10 for the 10:15 a.m. show.

Marcus Johnson—Saturday night—AMP by Strathmore, North Bethesda

Together with his Urban Jam Band, jazz pianist Marcus Johnson will perform songs from his latest album as well as his other releases. Johnson graduated from Howard University and is known in D.C.’s music scene.

Tickets are $30 to $40 for the 8 p.m. show.

Go Go Brunch—Sunday—Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club

Be’la Dona, an all-female band from Washington, D.C., will play at the Bethesda Blues & Jazz for a go go brunch event. The group also plays a mix of R&B, rock and gospel.

Tickets are $20 for the 1 p.m. event.
