Montgomery County police are searching for a Bethesda teen who has been missing since Monday and may have been headed to New York City.

Nyomi Cooper, 16, left her home in the 6800 block of Fairfax Road at about 9 a.m. that day and family hasn’t been able to contact her since, police said. Her family believes she could be attempting to travel to the New York City area, according to police.

Police describe her as 5 feet 5 inches tall and 118 pounds. She has medium-length black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black, waist-length jacket, blue jeans and Ugg boots.
