Handbagged—Thursday, Friday and Saturday—Round House Theatre, Bethesda
The Round House Theatre will stage the American premiere of Handbagged, a comedy that follows how Queen Elizabeth II and Margaret Thatcher behave together behind closed doors.
Tickets are $36 to $51 for evening shows Thursday, Friday and Saturday as well as an afternoon show Saturday. The show runs through March 3.
Let It Flow—Friday night—AMP by Strathmore, North Bethesda
Neo-soul and jazz band Let It Flow is returning to the area for a performance at AMP. The band was formed in Washington, D.C.
Tickets are $20 to $30 for the 8 p.m. show.
The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra with Dr. Cornel West—Friday night—Strathmore, North Bethesda
Academic and activist Cornel West will join the stage with Arturo O’Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra for a combined performance of spoken word and Afro-Cuban jazz.
Tickets are $25 to $65 for the 8 p.m. show.
The Tiniest Tempest—Saturday—The Mansion at Strathmore, North Bethesda
A “Shakespeare for the Young” performance, The Tiniest Tempest is a puppet reenactment of the Bard’s final play. It is recommended for ages 4 to 9.
Tickets are $8 to $10 for the 10:15 a.m. show.
Mad About Science—Saturday—Aspen Hill Library
A family event at the Aspen Hill Library will feature a “Bubbling Potions and Explosions” demonstration and an interactive STEM show.
The free event runs from 11 a.m. to noon.
SZA—Monday night—The Fillmore, Silver Spring
Fresh from her Grammy performance last Sunday, R&B star SZA will perform at The Fillmore as part of her latest tour. She was the most-nominated female artist at the music awards, but didn’t come away with any wins.
Tickets are available for $150 to $229 for the 8 p.m. show.
