Hogan has more campaign cash than his rivals combined

Republican Gov. Larry Hogan reported having more than $9 million in cash on hand in the latest campaign finance reports filed Wednesday night. The amount is more than all seven of the leading Democrats vying for the opportunity to challenge him in the general election. Raskin cancels planned event featuring psychiatrists who warned Trump was inciting violence

Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin, who represents southern Montgomery County, said he canceled the event after receiving violent threats about it. The planned public meeting at a senior center was to feature two psychiatrists who were going to discuss how President Donald Trump was inspiring violence. A spokeswoman for Raskin said the event had not been finalized or publicly announced before it was called off Wednesday. [The Daily Beast]

State transportation secretary to discuss Purple Line Thursday evening

Maryland Secretary of Transportation Pete Rahn is scheduled to be on hand tonight for an event at Montgomery College's Takoma Park campus hosted by Purple Line Now to provide an update on the light-rail project being constructed in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. The discussion will also feature officials from Montgomery County and Purple Line Transit Partners, the team of firms building the project. Bethesda Beat’s Andrew Metcalf will be moderating a panel discussion for a portion of the event, which runs from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. Seating for the event is closed, due to reaching capacity.
