Five years after Chuck Brown’s death, the band that toured behind the Godfather of Go-Go is still performing, with music from his catalogue and several songs from his final album, as well as new music from the group.

Starting its run at the Round House Theatre, The Book of Will tells the story of friends of William Shakespeare who go through a lot of trouble to get his First Folio published and cement his reputation as a writer.
Tickets are $26 to $51 for a “free beer Friday” show at 8 p.m. and $50 to $65 for an 8 p.m. Saturday show. There’s also a pay-what-you-can show at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Bethesda’s Winter Wonderland—Saturday—Veterans Park, Bethesda

On the corner of Woodmont and Norfolk avenues, Bethesda’s Winter Wonderland event will feature live entertainment, an ice sculpting demonstration and a visit from Santa. There will also be food from Bethesda restaurants and music performed by local students.
The free event runs from 1 to 4 p.m.
Stephen Wade—Saturday night—AMP by Strathmore, North Bethesda
Stephen Wade mixes his banjo performances with scholarship about music. Multi-instrumentalists Zan McLeod joins Wade on stage this weekend in a show that features a trailer for a film based on Wade’s book The Beautiful Music All Around Us.
Tickets are $25 to $35 for the 8 p.m. show.
Jingle Jubilee—Saturday—City Hall Concert Pavilion, Gaithersburg
For the 91st year, Gaithersburg will light up its Christmas tree at City Hall. The event will feature holiday music and another Santa appearance.
The free event goes from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The Nutcracker—Saturday and Sunday—F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, Rockville

The Rockville Civic Ballet will perform The Nutcracker six times during December. The production is a holiday favorite often staged by ballet companies.
Tickets are $13 to $17. Shows are at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
