Study finds Uber travel often faster than Metro inside D.C.
Uber is often a faster way to get around D.C. than Metro, according to a new study by the D.C. Office of the Chief Financial Officer. Metro is still the most efficient way of traveling between the city and the suburbs, but delays and night and weekend service reductions can slow travel on the transit system. Calling an Uber car is nearly as affordable as riding the Metro, if travelers split the cost, the study found. Metro officials released a statement contesting the findings about travel inside the District. [Washington Post]
