Police said they are searching for someone who tried to pepper spray a Forever 21 store employee at Westfield Montgomery Mall last month. The employee confronted the person over an attempt to steal merchandise, police said.

Police released images of the person behind the robbery attempt on Thursday and are asking for the public’s help in figuring out it was.

Officers responded to the store around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 21 after receiving a report about the person trying to leave the store with stolen merchandise concealed inside a shopping bag. When a store employee tried to intervene, the person attempted to spray the employee with pepper spray, then dropped the bag and fled the store.
