Man who pleaded guilty to Lyon sisters killing won’t face additional Montgomery County charges
Lloyd Lee Welch, 60, pleaded guilty Tuesday to murder charges related to the 1975 killing of the Lyon sisters. The plea took place in Bedford County, Virginia, because that was where witnesses allegedly saw him throwing two blood-stained duffel bags into a fire on his family’s property. Montgomery County prosecutors will not pursue additional kidnapping charges against him, at the request of his family. He was sentenced to 48 years in prison through the plea deal. Police foundation donates backpacks through back-to-school event
