Honey Pig Korean Coming to Montrose Crossing

Korean BBQ restaurant plans to open in the spring

Honey Pig Korean BBQ, a popular local restaurant chain, is planning to open its fifth location in Rockville next year.

The restaurant, as its name indicates, specializes in Korean barbecue, in which customers are served a variety of vegetables, meat and seafood that they grill on hot plates at their tables. The restaurant also offers dumplings, seafood pancakes, bibimbap, noodles and a variety of soups.

Honey Pig will open in a 6,000-square-foot space at the Montrose Crossing shopping center on Rockville Pike, which is owned by Federal Realty, according to a property tenant roster. The space is the former location of Tony Lin’s Chinese restaurant, which closed in May 2016.

Macy Kim, who immigrated from Korea to Baltimore in 1970, opened the first Honey Pig restaurant in Annandale in 2007 and now employs more than 150 employees at the restaurant’s different locations.
