Waredaca Brewing Co.
Opened in December 2015, the brewery is situated on a working horse farm in Laytonsville. Rough-hewn tables with benches and a corner full of couches are the indoor options, while the gravel patio offers picnic tables. Beer offerings are $2 for a 5-ounce taster, and include the Little Dam honey wheat beer, which uses the farm’s honey, and other beers made with fruit from Butler’s Orchard in Germantown, rosemary, thyme, Thai basil and other herbs raised in the brewer’s garden.
Light snacks are available, such as Maryland cheeses from Cherry Glen Goat Cheese Co. and Bowling Green Farm, and Virginia salami and hummus. Or visitors can pack their own picnic.
On Saturdays during the warmer months, kids can pet and ride ponies for a nominal charge. There’s a free tour around 3:30 p.m. every Saturday.
