Thefts from vehicles
Cash and property were taken from multiple vehicles on Glenwood Road, Irvington Avenue and Grant and Garfield streets between May 23 and 27. No force was reported and multiple vehicles had been left unlocked. Police urge residents to lock doors and remove valuables from cars.
Residential burglary on Jacobsen Street
Police arrested a 35-year-old Gaithersburg man for a residential burglary on the 10300 block of Jacobsen Street that occurred at 4:14 p.m. May 27. There was no sign of forced entry; the garage door and door into the house had been left unlocked. Nothing was taken.
Break-in at Walter Johnson
Two teens forced entry into Walter Johnson High School at 6:44 p.m. May 27. Nothing was taken. Police arrested the two boys, an 18-year-old from Rockville and a 17-year-old from Germantown, on burglary charges.
Apartment burglary on Arlington Road
Property was taken from an apartment on the 7100 block of Arlington Road in downtown Bethesda at 6:28 p.m. May 30. There were no signs of forced entry.
North Bethesda
Armed robbery near Rocking Horse Drive
Four men assaulted a man and stole cash from a second man in an armed robbery at 11:30 p.m. May 26 in the area of Rocking Horse Drive and Olden Road. Two of the men displayed weapons. Police say the robbers appeared to be between 18 and 21 years old.
Rockville
Thefts from vehicles
A man stole a tote bag, cigarette-rolling machine, a bag of tobacco, a wallet and spare change from an unlocked car on Monroe Street between 11:15 a.m. and 11:20 p.m. May 24. Four tires and rims were removed from a car on the 13200 block of Twinbrook Parkway during the night of May 24. A tote bag with a wallet, cash, credits cards and a driver’s license was removed from a locked vehicle on the 1800 block of Piccard Drive between 9:45 and 11:30 a.m. May 26.
Apartment burglary on East Argyle Street
Someone entered an apartment on the 200 block of East Argyle Street on May 26. Car cleaning fluid and windshield washer fluid was removed.
Shoplifting on Rockville Pike
A woman took five Swarovski crystal bracelets from a store on the 1600 block of Rockville Pike between 1:39 and 3:08 p.m. May 28. Then, at about 3:40 p.m. the same day, a man ran out of a store on the same block with 31 pairs of designer jeans.
Burglary of liquor warehouse
A 27-year-old man from Laurel was arrested for stealing property from the Montgomery County Department of Liquor Control warehouse at 9:23 p.m. May 28. There was no sign of forced entry at the 201 Edison Park Drive facility.
House burglary on Bald Cypress Drive
A house on the 9900 block of Bald Cyprus Drive was broken into between 7:45 and 11 p.m. May 29. Property was stolen.
Silver Spring
Theft from vehicles
Cash and property were taken from multiple cars on King, Kennett, Cameron, Fenton and Newell streets; Dixon Avenue; Colesville Road; and Fidler and Fenwick lanes between May 22 and 29. Force was reported in all incidents.
Shed burglary on Thayer Avenue
Property was taken from a residential shed on the 500 block of Thayer Avenue between 8 p.m. May 27 and 7:45 a.m. May 28. Forced entry was reported.
Homicide at Days Inn
A young couple was arrested for the killing of a 24-year-old man in the parking lot of a Days Inn near downtown Silver Spring at about 2:30 a.m. May 28. Police believe the incident occurred as retribution for a drug deal that turned into a robbery earlier that night.
Burglary at La Fonda Paisa Bakery
Two men broke into La Fonda Paisa Bakery at 7914 Georgia Ave. in the early morning of May 30. They stole property.
