Fire strikes Congressional Country Club house

A fire broke out around 5 p.m. Saturday in a residential structure that houses Congressional Country Club workers in the 8900 block of Bradley Boulevard. The fire caused about $200,000 in damage to the structure and is believed to have been caused by accident. Ten people were displaced and one dog died. [@mcfrspio on Twitter]

Residents, businesses differ on proposed Rockville outdoor smoking ban

Hogan signs Metro oversight bill

The bill signed Thursday creates the Washington Metrorail Safety Commission that will provide safety oversight for Metro and satisfy a federal request that will lead to the release of about $4.8 million in funds for the transit system.
