Fortune names Delaney one of world’s 50 top leaders
U.S. Rep. John Delaney has made a Fortune magazine list of the world’s 50 greatest leaders. The magazine placed Delaney in the 13th spot, right behind Ohio Gov. John Kasich. Delaney was chosen because of his work on rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure, an issue that President Donald Trump has made a focus of his administration. Delaney’s idea for using international tax reform to generate funds for infrastructure could be “the best option for unleashing major spending without blowing a hole in the federal deficit,” the magazine wrote. Bethesda taekwondo studio has 9-year-old instructor
At just 9 years old, a Bethesda resident already has enough martial arts know-how to start taking on students. Dylan Oliver has just begun teaching taekwondo at Coles Martial Arts Academy in Bethesda. Dylan even helps instruct his mother, who has a red belt and trails her son by a few levels. “It doesn’t matter how young you are, how old you are,” Dylan told reporters. “Never give up.” [WUSA9]
Bus rapid transit system to be called “Flash”
The county’s proposed bus rapid transit system now has name, officials announced Thursday. The name “Flash” beat out two other options as the most popular moniker for the planned transportation network. The countywide naming contest took place from Nov. 18 through Jan. 20. County transportation officials will also reach out to the public as they form a logo and branding proposal for the system. [Get On Board BRT]
Ledecky enters the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame
Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky, who lives in Bethesda, has become the youngest inductee to the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame. The swimmer took her place in the hall of fame during a ceremony this month in Annapolis. Other inductees include Harriet Tubman, Clara Barton and Sen. Barbara Mikulski. Real Housewives star shows no shame about out-of-date kitchen
One of the stars of the Real Housewives of Potomac has opened up her kitchen to show off her out-of-date appliances. Karen Huger said she has no shame about the kitchen area, despite getting criticized for the cooking space. Huger says since she’s an empty-nester, she no longer cooks in the kitchen and will “refuse to renovate” the area. [People]

Rain is possible for the area through mid-afternoon, and temperatures are expected to reach 62 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Overnight, the temperatures will drop into the 50s, and the skies will stay overcast.
