Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 — Friday night — The Music Center at Strathmore, North Bethesda

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra performs Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 as conductor Marin Alsop illuminates the backstory to reveal secrets, scandals and twists. The show starts at 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $35 to $99.

Suttle — Friday night — Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club

Over the last 23 years, the band Suttle has made a name for itself, opening for the iconic Isley Brothers at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., and playing during the tribute to the legendary “Godfather of Go-go” Chuck Brown at the Historical Howard Theater in the District. Doors open 6 and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Twelve Angry Men — Friday night — Gaithersburg Arts Barn

Sandy Spring Theatre Group presents Twelve Angry Men, the famous play about jurors in a murder trial. The play runs till Jan. 22, with performances at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for children under 14.

The Southern Belles — Friday night — Villain & Saint, Bethesda

The Southern Belles play a mix of funky southern psychedelic rock ’n’ roll at hundreds of shows and festivals each year. The band’s road-tested sound has earned a devout following, with fans traveling far and wide to catch the show. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 to $14.

Joe Clair & Friends — Saturday night — Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club

Seat Pleasant native Joe Clair is the current host of WPGC’s Joe Clair Morning Show, easing the morning drive for listeners across the region. Doors open at 5 and shows start at 7 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the show.

Of Tomorrow with Signs Point East — Saturday night — Villain & Saint, Bethesda

D.C.-based Of Tomorrow brings its funk, rock, reggae, samba, hip-hop and neo-soul musical collaborative to Villain & Saint. Signs Point East also performs. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $13.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast — Saturday morning — Imagination Stage, Bethesda

In this stage version of the classic tale, the beautiful Belle contends with the bully Gaston only to later find herself imprisoned in the castle of the Beast. She becomes friends with a candlestick, clock and a teapot and later falls in love with the Beast just as Gaston prepares to storm the castle to try to take Belle back. The show is recommended for children aged 4 or older. Saturday performances are at 11 a.m. and 1:30 and 4 p.m. Sunday performances are at 1:30 and 4 p.m. The show closes Jan. 15. Tickets range from $17 to $40.

Saved by the 90s — Saturday night — The Fillmore Silver Spring

Saved by the 90s is bringing back the ’90s with an interactive party, featuring a live ’90s band. Doors open at 7 and the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15.
