Prosecutors say N.J. man who was later killed was lured to Maryland through Facebook
Two suspects in the death of a 22-year-old New Jersey man, found in a shallow grave near Gaithersburg in November, appeared in Montgomery County District Court on Wednesday and were charged with first-degree murder. The victim, Jordy Mejia, had been lured to Maryland after an exchange of Facebook messages with a woman, according to county police documents. One defendant is 19, and the other is 16, but is being charged as an adult. [Washington Post]
Gaithersburg gym seeks beer, wine license

DiSpirito starts position in Rockville City Hall

Gaithersburg’s May Mile registration opens
Registration has opened for the 2nd Annual La Milla de Mayo (The May Mile), a one-mile run/walk through Olde Towne, Gaithersburg, to be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 6. The event, hosted by the City of Gaithersburg in partnership with the Montgomery County Road Runners Club, features a chip-timed race and quarter- and half-mile Kids Fun Runs. Dry and cold today, snow showers this evening
Most of the day will be dry, but it will be cold with highs in the 30s and plenty of clouds. By about 8 or 9 p.m., snow showers will start to move into the area.
