A public meeting set for Jan. 11 will give residents an opportunity to review pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure recommendations in the Bethesda Downtown Sector Plan.
The meeting will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Room D of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center, 4805 Edgemoor Lane, Bethesda. RSVPs are encouraged but not required.
The Montgomery County Planning Department and County Council member Hans Riemer will host the meeting.
The sector plan, approved by the Planning Board in July, has been in the works since 2014, and is meant to be a land-use guide for the next 20 years.
The meeting is intended for residents interested in county Planning Board recommendations for making downtown Bethesda more accessible for pedestrians and cyclists, Riemer said in a statement. The discussion will focus on how the plan’s proposals differ from what exists in the community and what it will take to make the changes the plan recommends.
The meeting is timed to take place before the council begins deliberating on the sector plan draft in mid-January.
