Voters who show up Tuesday at the polls at The Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville can also receive a free flu shot.
The Vote & Vax program is expected to provide flu shots to more than 50 people from 3 to 7 p.m. at a clinic on the first floor of Building 1 at 9640 Gudelsky Drive, which is near the campus polling place in Room 116.
Students and faculty of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and University of Maryland School of Nursing will offer the vaccinations.
The shots are free to voters and students, said Patricia Fanning, a spokeswoman for the University of Maryland at Baltimore.
Vote & Vax is a national community outreach project aimed at increasing influenza vaccination rates among Americans on Election Day. Shots will provide protection against the seasonal flu. The vaccine is being provided by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.
Voting is not required to receive a free flu shot. However, parking vouchers are available only to voters.
