Young Artists of America at Strathmore (www.youngartistsamerica.org) offers musical theater education and performance opportunities to gifted and committed youths. Students train collaboratively to perform classical and musical theater concerts in venues such as The Music Center at Strathmore. YAA also offers master classes with Broadway composers and performers; the classes are often free and open to the public.

What a donation buys:
• $250 pays for one student instrumentalist to rehearse and perform with the YAA Orchestra.
• $500 pays for one student vocalist to rehearse and perform with the YAA Ensemble.
• $10,000 brings in a professional guest mentor, such as Broadway composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin), who worked with students for YAA’s 2016 production of Children of Eden at Strathmore.
Volunteer opportunities:
• One day: Man the ticket table and usher at performances and master classes.
• Weekly or long-term: Help plan special events and fundraisers.
