Literacy Council of Montgomery County (www.literacycouncilmcmd.org) provides English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and basic literacy instruction to adult learners. It conducts intensive ESOL classes and recruits volunteers to tutor 1,500 adult learners annually so they can secure and retain jobs, get promotions, help their children with homework and become U.S. citizens. What a donation buys:
• $250 covers the annual cost of tutoring for two adults.
