Despite the Internet, 4.6 million people visited a county library in 2015

The dawn of the Internet came with lots of fears that public libraries would die, but the Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) system is alive and well. In the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2015, there was a 3 percent increase in visitors to the county’s libraries—that’s 4.6 million people who came for story time, language conversation clubs and other services, including borrowing books. Here’s a look at MCPL by the numbers.
