About 150 people, including several County Council members and County Executive Ike Leggett, attended a fundraiser hosted Monday night by the Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, council member Roger Berliner said.
Montgomery County Council member Nancy Navarro said she was impressed with Kaine’s talk, which included an outline of the tax plan he and presidential nominee Hillary Clinton are proposing. He also said that during the first 100 days, the administration would propose immigration reform.
Kaine also spoke about fighting poverty, investing in infrastructure and in work force development, she said.
The event, which lasted about an hour, was closed to the press.
Kaine spent much of the event taking questions from the audience, council member Tom Hucker said.
